• You can contact the SSTA board or property manager through the SSTA Portal or by emailing our community manager, Toria Harris, at toria.harris@summitmanage.com. We also welcome all home owners to attend our monthly board meetings.ion text goes here

  • SSTA meetings are typically held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. We alternate between meeting in person at the Pohick Library and meeting virtually. When we meet virtually, Summit Management will send out a meeting link via email ahead of time. Up-to-date details and access information are available on our website under the Board of Directors page. All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • We encourage all residents to get involved and help strengthen our community! Volunteering doesn’t require joining the Board—there are several committees and ongoing needs where your time and talents can make a meaningful difference.

    Tree Committee:

When a tree is reported to the Board, the Tree Committee evaluates its condition and works with our tree service provider to determine the appropriate action, including trimming or removal, consistent with the SSTA Tree Guide.

    Social Committee:

The Social Committee helps plan and coordinate community events throughout the year, such as movie nights, National Night Out gatherings, and yard sales. Volunteers can assist with generating ideas, organizing activities, or distributing flyers.

    Architectural Committee:

The Architectural Committee reviews and approves all Architectural Project Approval Forms to ensure proposed modifications comply with SSTA’s Rules and Regulations Guide and maintain the community’s overall appearance. This Committee also provides guidance and feedback when an application does not meet the established standards, helping homeowners make adjustments as needed for approval.

    Rules and Regulations Guide Committee:

This committee is an ad hoc or special committee responsible for reviewing, updating, and modernizing the SSTA Rules and Regulations Guide. Their work ensures that the document clearly explains all community standards—including architectural guidelines, parking policies, trash and recycling requirements, and other rules that help maintain the safety, appearance, and consistency of Shannon Station. The committee will recruit volunteers and disband on an as-needed basis.

  • Trash is picked up on Mondays and Thursdays, and recycling is collected on Thursdays only. Our current service provider is Trash Away. Pease place your trash and recycling bins at the curb by 6:00 AM on pickup days. Trash and recycling bins should be returned to their proper storage location by the evening of the collection day, typically no later than 7:00 PM.

  • Trash Away will collect bulk trash on our regular pickup days at no additional cost, provided you schedule the pickup in advance. You can schedule pickups by contacting Trash Away (703-339-4560 or info@trashaway.com). Bulk trash includes typical household items such as small pieces of furniture and personal belongings (e.g.,sofas, chairs, tables, televisions, lamps, mattresses, box springs, and similar items).

Major appliances (e.g., refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, metal shelving, or equipment containing motors) are not considered bulk trash under our agreement. These items may be collected for a mutually agreed-upon fee, arranged and paid for by the homeowner.

Renovation or contractor debris—including items such as used carpeting, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, tile, drywall, wood materials, paint containers, concrete, metal frames, and glass doors or windows—is also not considered bulk trash. Homeowners may schedule pickup of these materials for a fee, though such debris is typically the responsibility of the contractor performing the work.

  • Glass is not collected with regular curbside recycling in Fairfax County. To recycle glass, please take it to one of the county’s designated purple drop-off bins. The nearest location for our neighborhood is at the West Springfield Government Center (6140 Rolling Rd, West Springfield, VA 22152), located in the parking lot.

  • If someone is parked in your assigned space, you may contact our contracted towing company, Dominion Towing, at 703-339-2400 They will assist with removing the unauthorized vehicle.

  • Huntsman Blvd is a county-maintained road, and any parking rules or signage fall under VDOT’s authority—not SSTA’s. Because of this, our community cannot impose or enforce parking restrictions on that roadway. We have previously reached out to VDOT about parking concerns and will continue to advocate on this issue moving forward.

  • The SSTA pool is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, pursuant to Virginia law. SSTA will provide each resident with pool passes and an updated copy of the pool rules prior to the pool opening. Using the pool facility when it is not open is considered trespassing.

  • SSTA uses a mobile app called PoolEntry for pool access. Residents must create an account in the app, enter their household information, and use their mobile phones as their digital pool passes. Guest passes can also be purchased directly through the app.

  • Approval for any exterior work is gained through our Architectural Committee by submitting an Architectural Project Approval Form. The SSTA Rules and Regulations Guide outline the steps you need to take to ensure that your changes are compliant with our community standards.

  • If you notice a fallen or damaged tree, please report it through the SSTA Portal or by emailing property management. Include the exact location, a brief description of the issue, and photos if available.
If a tree has fallen on your property, please refer to the SSTA Tree Guide for detailed instructions on how to proceed.
